It may be British Summer Time now but the weather isn’t exactly summer temperatures just yet. Transitioning to a lighter wardrobe may not be in the diary yet, but switching your makeup palette to light, pastel tones can instantly brighten the days ahead.

Pastel palettes are a favourite for spring/summer catwalks, makeup brand launches and award show beauty looks. These places demonstrate ways in which pastel tones can be inserted into everyday looks. Here is the edit of different makeup products for you to harness the power of pastels.

Barry M has several different collections with their own nail paint shades and style, but with summer incoming coconut infused nail paint is the only one to use. In a soft pale yellow, this nail paint is hi shine for a glossy manicure. The nail polish is also infused with coconut oil, water and vitamins B & C for healthy nails.

MUA pearl single eyeshadow in Lilac, £1, superdrug.com

Named the colour of the season by Pantone, lilac hues are beginning to pop up on garments, jewellery, sunglasses and now even more makeup products. This highly pigmented lilac shade by MUA is shimmer and bright. Mix with other eyeshadows or wear by itself for solid colour eyelids. Purple tone eyeshadows are best for brown, green or hazel eyes for a colour pop so choose accordingly.

Glossier Cloud Paint in Beam, £15, glossier.com

Glossier holds the reigns with cloud paint. The watercolour style blush can be bought as a single colour or as a duo combination giving the opportunity for you to create new colours and tones by blending the paints together. Cloud paint is buildable, so apply with fingertips and use as much or as little as you wish.

Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil in Heartless, £15.50, urbandecay.co.uk

This liner will not move all day, hence its name 24/7 liner. It is easy to apply; a classic stick liner that can be sharpened for a defined wing or blended to create a slight diffused look. The liner is waterproof and packed with jojoba oil and vitamin E. The colour is a soft shimmery pink that would look great as a liner or on the brow bone for a point of highlight.

NYX Macaron Lippies in Earl Grey/Powder Blue, £6, nyxcosmetics.co.uk

For the daring, a blue lip colour has been sported by Rihanna, Kesha Kylie Jenner. Wear this lipstick by NYX with minimal eyes and face makeup for a pop of colour. The shade is matte, creamy, long-lasting and cruelty-free.
