It can be a dilemma when it comes to comfort and workwear. The wish to look smart in a suit but pair it with heels is a struggle that all women have at least once in their lives. It is not uncommon now to see women ditching heels for the morning commute and swapping them for comfort footwear in the form of trainers. So why can’t the trainers stay on and work with the outfit? The answer is they can. It is possible to tailor your trainers to create an outfit that is smart, comfortable and acceptable for the office or formal events.

For easing into this ensemble, all of the below suits can easily be teamed with a pair of classic Adidas Stan Smith trainers.

To keep the outfit smart, make sure trainers are clean. Add coloured socks for a fun twist on classic tailoring. Wear with a shirt, blouse or silk camisole for a smarter look. To dress down, wear a simple cotton t-shirt or vest underneath the blazer.

Suits are investment, so while the price of the chosen looks vary, each item can be worn as separates, too.
