There are more to trainers than the shoe upper. Soles can be an interesting point of focus. With so many trainers available in the shops right now, she steps has created an edit of classic and new trend sole styles from size? for women @sizeforwomen.
Platform
Popular trainer brands of the moment including Vans and Adidas have recognised the power of the platform and are creating reinventions of classic styles. Platform sole trainers gained popularity in the 90’s with brands such as Fila and Buffalo. Platform soles tend to have a flat sole or rigid edge and can vary from low-top to hi-top styles.

Colour block
Advancements in technology have allowed for trainers to have a technicolour sole. It is possible for different coloured plastics and rubber to be layered to create a contrasting colour sole. Coloured soles are popular in sports trainers and reinventions of classic trainer styles.

Rubber
Most trainers have a rubber sole, which makes them a great all weather shoe style. Rubber can defend against Spring rain or Winter snow, whilst keeping your toes free from adverse weather conditions. Rubber soles are also easy to clean with a wet wipe; minimal effort required.

Air bubble
The air bubble sole is an iconic feature of the popular Nike Air Max 97. This sole feature is a recognisable feature of many Nike trainers. Styles vary in air bubble depth and colour, so pick carefully.

Classic gum sole
The gum sole is a trainer staple for brands such as Adidas and Reebok. The neutral tones of the gum sole and nude upper colours often create a retro feel. The classic gum sole trainer with white leather upper is a slick combination, perfect for Summer days.
